The international student cooking outreach will take place again on Friday, April 11th. The Tongs will be hosting this event. If you would like to come, or you know an international student you would like to invite, let Ginny know or email info@gradivcf.org so we can get a headcount. Bring along the strangest American food you can think of. This is a fabulous way to make some fun, low-key connections with international students, or to get to know our group, while learning how to cook something new!
April 15th is not just tax day (don’t forget!), but Crossroads House day!! Our theme this time around is ‘picnic food’–cold salads, sandwiches, jello concoctions, etc. Come help us serve our neighbors in Portsmouth! Plan to drop your food off at St. George’s in Durham by 4, and either carpool to Crossroads from St. George’s by 4:15ish or meet us there.
Our exploration into the Four Loves of GradIV continues. This week we examined God’s love for His people, and how we can show that love in our community. We read Jonah, and heard a fabulous testimony from Alyssa, the Intervarsity Greek (fraternity/sorority) staff person, about how God is doing incredible things in the Greek community. 25 or so people turned up and were receptive to the testimony of Jimmy, a Greek IV-er, on Tuesday! God is great and mighty!
The Four Loves study will continue for the next few weeks, so please come learn with us on Tuesday evenings at 6:00.

We are starting a new spring study on the four ministry commitments of Graduate Intervarsity: Spiritual Formation; Community; Evangelism and Service; and Integration of Faith and Learning. We’ll be tackling a different part of each one from now until the end of the semester, so come prepared to be stretched!
If you are interested in leading one of these sessions, let Ginny know! We’re also looking for a guest speaker or two–someone you know who integrates faith and learning in their academic or professional setting. The remainder of the year will go as follows (subject to change, weather permitting…)

Grad IV is off and running this semester! We are adding two new exciting ministries to the GradIV family, in addition to our weekly dinner and Bible study.
1) International Student outreach! Beginning with an informal ‘pizza cooking’ night, we are seeking to make connections with the international students in our community.
2) Weekly prayer! Come to the MUB on Thursdays, from 4:30-5:00 for a coffee/prayer break. Prayer for our campus, our community, and our world. Room schedule is over here.
As always, please join us on Tuesdays at 6 for dinner, with Bible study (we’re finishing up Romans right now) to follow around 6:30.
It’s time for a new semester (already?!), and GradIV is gearing back up. Our first meeting of the spring will be held on Tuesday, January 22 in MUB 203. Join us at 6 pm for dinner and 7 for our continuing study of Romans!
Other opportunities this spring include a grad student retreat, fun and game nights, and community service events. To learn more about us, please email info@gradivcf.org or mosey on over to our forum to see what’s cooking.
We won’t be meeting for our usual Bible study on 10/16. Instead, you have two three opportunities–one two to learn, and one to serve.
1) There is an opportunity to hear a Christian speaker and activist. Jim Wallis of Sojourners www.sojo.net will be speaking on campus as part of the Discovery series! His topic is “Voting Our Values: Peace, Poverty and the Planet.” It will take place from 12 – 2 PM in the Holloway Squamscott Room. This is a great opportunity to engage the community or bring friends.
2) This is the week that we serve dinner at Crossroads House in Portsmouth. The theme for dinner is stews. If you can cook a dish, it needs to be in the kitchen at St. George’s Episcopal in Durham by 4 pm. We’ll be carpooling from there around 4:30 (or you can meet us there), and serving until 7:30 or so. Let us know if you’d like to come! We need people to help in the kitchen, and people to engage with the residents.
The next week, 10/23 we’re in MUB 332.
Hope to see you there!
3) ETA: Mark Kraines (the former grad iv staff leader) will be speaking at Intervarsity Undergraduate Large Group this coming Thursday night (7 pm, MUB 330/332). Mark will be starting a 5-week LG series ‘Why Jesus?’ by taking a look at Christ’s unique claim to be God.
We’ll be at the UNH University Day Picnic and Student Activities Fair Tuesday, September 18th. Stop by and say hi, pick up some free goodies, and grab dinner at the picnic. We’ll start our Bible study at 6:30 in MUB 237 (note different room), and there will be for thosse who don’t make it to the picnic.
We’re diving into Romans this week, so come prepared for thinking!
Pictures of last week’s BBQ are up on the photo page! More to come soon.
This week we’ll be in the MUB, room 207, for dinner at 6 pm, followed by an introduction to the book of Romans at 6:30. We’d love to see you there! Email info@gradivcf.org for more information.
Well, another summer is over (sniff) and a new school year on its way. We’ve had a fabulous summer at grad ivcf, with lots of good cookouts, some silliness, and some great Bible study. We saw people we hadn’t seen for a while (yay), and welcomed a new staff member, Ginny, who is awesome. Check out some of the pictures on the photo page to see some of what we were up to over the summer.
This fall will be very exciting as well! A few upcoming events to keep in mind:
-September 4th Back to School cookout! We’ll be grilling up hamburgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers by the volleyball net outside Babcock Hall. All the residents of Babcock are invited, and bring along any new grad students you know of as well!
-September 18th Student Organizations Fair! We’ll have a table outside T-hall from from 3:30-6:30p, handing out information and goodies to new students.
If you’re new (or not!) to the UNH area, we’d love to have you join us. We meet each Tuesday evening for an informal, communal meal followed by Bible study. This semester we’re meeting in various rooms in the MUB–check out the calendar for this week’s meeting place or the MUB room schedule in the foyer.
We’d also love to meet you one on one for coffee or discussion, or even just to drive you to the grocery store or such. Send us an email at info@gradivcf.org if we can help you in anyway, and make sure you check out the forum discussion board.
It’s summertime! Join us Tuesday’s at 6:00 PM at various houses around the Seacoast. Check the blog for exact location.
We meet every week from 6:00 - 6:30 PM for food and fellowship. From 6:30 - 7:30 or 8:00 PM we enjoy a spirited bible study. Please e-mail pigstubs at gmail.com if you have questions about where to meet and what to bring. We’d love to have you!
Once you join us we’ll invite you to join our Message Board where we can plan for new meetings, discuss the bible study, and plan on what food to bring.
This is incredibly late in posting but better late then never eh? We had a great time making 14 custom pies for all to enjoy. We had exactly the right amount of dough and just enough filling. Pictures will be posted soon. Have a great Christmas! Did you know Ringer can cook?
Thanks to all who volunteered to help Mike and Sandy move into their new place! We loved the pizza! Anyway, click the photo or this link to view the pictures that we took during the move.
Try out our message board! You must first register. It’s really easy. Post your suggestions and we’ll make it as great as can be. I will need moderators so let me know if you’re interested. Click HERE for the Board!
Sandy and I are moving on Saturday, and we would love any help you can offer at any time that day. The attachment is a rough schedule. Basically, if you’re free and want to help please call my cell XXX-4452 (e-mail mike for phone) on Saturday, and we can tell you whether we’re at Forest Park or in Raymond.
